Estate Plan Cost
The cost of a will depends upon the type of the will that we are going to prepare for you, for a client. A lot of that depends on, is there a lot of estate tax planning that’s being put in there, the number of trusts that we may be drafting whether it would be doing a trust for the benefit of the spouse as well as a trust that may go on for awhile for your children. A lot of that may be based on the size of the estate.
Typically simple wills meaning where one spouse is leaving all the property to the surviving spouse and then maybe in a simple trust on a second to death for children is not that expensive. But what may be expensive is if you failed to draft a properly draft a will which contains ambiguities, may lead to more coarsely problems down the road, which may involve going to court, litigation, to correct those mistakes. so therefore, the cost of a will many times is very much worth it, to make sure that what that person wants to accomplish in that will is fact accomplished and does not create a situation or problem which would require intervention by the court down the road which could be much more costly.
