BAYONNE WOMAN KILLED IN TRAGIC MOTORCYCLE CRASH
A Bayonne mother of three was killed in a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon, May 17, in Connecticut when the motorcycle she was riding on collided with an oncoming SUV.
Karen S. Minutella, 47, was travelling on the back of her fiancé’s 2004 Harley Davidson when the collision occurred. The pair were traveling north on Route 81 near Killingworth, CT, when a Honda Pilot driven by 16-year-old Katherine Hausherr struck the motorcyclists. Minutella was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the crash remains under investigation.
Life Threatening Injuries Sustained by Driver in Control of Motorcycle
The driver of the motorcycle, John Healey, was also launched from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to Hartford Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remains in stable condition. Another motorcyclist who tried to avoid the crash was thrown from his motorcycle, but suffered only minor injuries in the deadly collision.
The driver and passengers in the SUV were all uninjured in the accident.
